The ‘NavaGrahas’ – aka – Nine Planets play a major role in one’s life and its journey that moves with all the turns and frills. That is for those who believe in Astrology. That’s a different story. But, for those who believe in science, what I’m exposing here is about those symbolic ‘planets’, which you can control, that controls you with your very own knowledge and action. Puzzled? Some of you, at some point in time, after doing everything like eating food sensibly, following a good diet, doing enough exercise, and meditating daily, may feel tired now and find it impossible to carry on. If that applies to you, I would like to ask you this- ‘have you ever asked this question to yourself; “Why this sudden exhaustion?” Maybe the answer is that those 9 ‘planets’ are not fully favorable for you.
“A healthy lifestyle” as per Wikipedia, is one that helps to maintain and improve one’s health and well-being. We all agree that the main issue here is that most of us fail to maintain the daily disciplines which are essentially required to keep our body and mind fit for smooth functioning. Above that, you must learn to follow some consistent regime to improve it day by day. Thus you can be assured a good, healthy lifestyle to live meaningfully and happily without troubling any of your dear and near ones as you grow.
There is a big misunderstanding that to have a healthy life you must sacrifice your many pleasures and lovely things and live a boring and bitter life. That is a myth or a wrong way altogether. The goal is very much attainable without many scarifications on what you love. All you need to do is decide deep down whether you wish to lead a healthy life or not. That is it. Others will fall in place once that decision is taken firmly.
Here I must caution that never fall prey to those many commercial callings out there that exploit you over the same myth you inherit and their sole intention is to make a quick buck on it.
As the fine old saying ‘the path of success begins with the initial step’ you need to begin the journey with your crucial first step. After some days from the experiences, you will begin to feel better. You know, you cannot solve the whole world’s health issues but you can solve it for one person and that is you.
Here are those nine planets you must make favorably to help you lead a healthy lifestyle. You will get to know how to make it a power source without much pains and tons of gains with down to earth practical guide. Let us dive unto the bottom;
Sun : (Be Active- Energy)
Moon : (Food/Mother- Eat Right)
Jupiter : (Mindfulness- Spirituality)

Mars : (Take Challenge)
Saturn : (Good Sleep- Darkness)

1 Sun (Be Active):
This is your Sun planet, the planet of energy and source. Your Sun will be more powerful when you do the following simple things: (A) Exercise + (B) Physical Works + (C) Engage.
(A) Exercise: Do simple exercises that you can do comfortably. You don’t need a high paid gym subscription or costly equipment to do this. Brisk walking for 30 - 45 minutes a day, or simple yoga with a SuryaNamaskara, etc. Do this at least 5 days a week without silly excuses.
(B) Physical Works: Be Active doing some physical movement-oriented routines like doing jobs that demand movements or some household jobs or any service-oriented activities.
(C) Engage: Never be idle the whole day. You need to find some reason to be active then you will find a way to be engaged in some productive exposure.
2 Moon (Eat Right)
This is your ‘Moon’ planet, the planet of Motherhood, and also the planet of fruits and vegetables. Hence said this planetary support is very very essential to draw your lifeline flawless.
Under this planetary observation, you will be monitored on your habits of (a) Eating Fruits & Vegetables. (b) Taking Proteins, (c) how much you take plant-based food, (d) Drinking enough water, (e) Taking enough Fibre, (f) Eat good Fats, and (g) controlling Sugar & Salt, etc.
(a) Eating Fruits & Vegetables:
By naturally embracing a broad color palette through a variety of foods will help you get essential nutrients and a lot of natural feel-good factors including phytonutrients required to live a healthy life. Fruits and vegetables, particularly colorful, forming a rainbow plate can help you towards your 5-A-Day* regime. Plus, you're more likely to enjoy eating an attractive meal.

(b) Taking Proteins:
Protein, the building block of our body, consists of 22 amino acids. Out of those 22, thirteen of them can be produced by our body internally. But our body can't produce the remaining 9 acids which it expects to be filled in entirely by our diet. Therefore these 9 amino acids are called essential Amino acids. As an approximate measure, we need to take protein ‘grams equivalent to our body weight in Kg.’ To make it clear, if your body weight is 70 kg, you need to have 70 grams of digestible protein every day.
(c) Plant-Based Food:
Eating more whole plant foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes that are rich in nutrients can give you an upper hand in fighting harmful pathogens. Also, the antioxidants in these foods help decrease inflammation to combat free radicals. A very unique compound called phytonutrients in plants has many untold healthy properties including antioxidant and healing.
(d) Drinking Enough Water:
Keeping your body hydrated is very important to protect your overall health and not to mention, our body is 70 percentage fluid. Dehydration can cause many health issues, including physical performance, focus, mood, digestion, and heart and kidney functions.
Your body’s water needs are filled 80% by taking pure water, other beverages, and 20% by foods you take. Limit your intake of sweetened drinks including juices, tea & coffee.
In older adults, there may be a lack of adequate thirst-signals. Those kinds of people need to drink regularly even if they don't feel thirsty.
As a thumb rule, the recommended intake of water is around 2-4 liters per day.
(e) Taking Enough Fibre:
Dietary fiber is an integral part of the bowel system for its proper functioning and health. It also plays a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels and balancing intestinal pH levels.
The fiber in plant foods feeds your gut microbiome. A robust gut microbiome can improve your immunity and help keep harmful pathogens away from your body that can invade through your digestive tract.
There are soluble fibers and insoluble fibers Soluble fibers are in charge of nutrients and their absorption whereas insoluble fibers take care of the digestion and elimination process in the digestive system.
Primary sources of our dietary fiber are peas, beans, vegetables, fruit, oats, whole grains, brown rice, nuts, seeds, etc. Include enough fiber in your daily dietary routines.
(f) Eat Good Fats:
Fats are one of the essential dietary components to help produce energy, energy storage, hormone production, and for making healthy cells in our body.
Fats are divided into two types as saturated and unsaturated fats. In terms of calories, they look the same but have different effects on your health. To avoid health risks, we have to have them in a balanced way and to optimize our health too.
Saturated fats, commonly called ‘bad fats’, are the naturally occurring fats found in our daily foods such as butter, hard cheeses, fatty meat and meat products, cream, lard, suet, and some plant oils.
Unsaturated fats are again classified into two types: (1) polyunsaturated, and (2) monounsaturated fats. These are generally considered as our good fats and are found in olive oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, etc.
Special mention is needed here about two polyunsaturated essential fatty acids (EFA), Omega-3 and omega-6 which our body can not produce internally. So we must include them in our daily diet in which Omega3 is rare to fill the ideal recommended ratio of 1 : 4. Almost 90% of us are living with them at 1 : 50 0r at the best of 1 : 20. This is a worrisome scenario causing increased cardiovascular issues in our society.
Another kind of unsaturated fat is ‘Trans fats’ which are associated with partially hydrogenated vegetable oils used in processed foods such as cakes and biscuits and hence advised to have in small amounts. Many countries banned the use of oils that contain trans fats.
Have more good fats and Omega3 and avoid trans fats to live healthily. I use daily 1 gel of Salmon Omega-3 supplement to take care of my heart and brain health.
(g) Reduce Sugar & Salt:
A high intake of salt through a variety of foods increases the risk of high blood pressure and increased risk of heart diseases.
Most of the processed foods such as pastries, bread, convenience, and savory snacks, tinned foods come with high salt content.
According to your age and health conditions, recommended salt intake may vary for an individual. WHO recommendation is 5g of salt per day for an adult. while recognizing that the actual average intake is often twice this high.
3 Jupiter (Mindfulness)
To get the power of Jupiter you must cultivate the right mindfulness and spirituality. Jupiter’s other name is ‘Guru’. The blessings of the guru are very much important in our life. You all agree that there is no conflict in the statement that “the whole sum of our life is defined by the mindset we have”.
These are the elements you need to have a super success mindset! (a) Meditation (b) High EQ (c) Positive Attitude (d) Spiritual Rituals.
There are numerous schools of meditation out there. Doing 20 minutes of any meditation twice a day can make your mind clear, transparent, and potentially functional. Listen to some particular frequency music (Free Samples) for attaining a particular goal of brain wave stimulation.
(b) High EQ:
You must be trained to have a high Emotional Quotient (EQ). If you naturally inherit that then you may have the following qualities in you: 1) You lavishly smile to your friends and acquaintances 2) You are compassionate to your fellow human beings 3) You laugh loud even to a silly joke 4) You never go out of control on emotional outbreaks 5) You make sure you do what it takes to reduce your stress levels 6) You consciously avoid arguments to stay calm 7) You love unconditionally your near and dears and 8) You respect others irrespective of their social, economical or ethnic status.
If those are not natural, fake them for 60 days, it may become your habits eventually.
(c) Positive Attitude:
Living with a positive attitude is all one needs to swim through the ocean of life irrespective of whether the water is turbulent or calm. If your mind is filled with optimistic attitudes, you'll be able to handle everyday stress in a more constructive way. That ability may contribute to the wide range of health benefits such as increased life span, a lower rate of depression, greater resistance to common ailments, reduced cardiovascular diseases, and capabilities to handle any negative situations.
(d) Spiritual Rituals:
Follow your favorite way of spiritual routines to engage your spirit in an elevated position. It necessarily need not be the way our religion tells us to do, it can be anything that gives you some inner satisfaction and peace. 4 Rahu (Checkups - Unpredictable)
Rahu represents the unpredictabilities in our life. How can you make Rahu favorable? Simple, do your duties properly in time. Taking all routine health checkups in time without skipping periods and maintaining personal hygiene are the best ways that ‘Rahu’ stays favorable irrespective of its actual houses.
Do your periodic checkups for Sugar, BP, Cholesterol at the right time. And keep your oral hygiene at priority. Take precautions and follow medical advice in pandemic situations.
5 Venus (Love/ Socialize)
The love of our life is governed by this planet, Venus is also responsible for our materials accomplishments. The more you are loved, Venus, the Sukhra, is most favorable to you. If you are leading a more socially engaging life and being a true giver, the chances are you make your community love you unconditionally. There you demand the power of Venus to live more meaningfully.
Hangout with a community of like-minded buddies those who care and love you, which you love and nurture.
6 Mars (Challenges - Actions)
Mars, the planet of Action also called Commander in Chief of the Planetary Cabinet will be in favor when you do challenging actions promoting your well-being, or else it becomes the commander of a gangster instilling destruction in your life.
Participate in small changes of fun activities that contribute some elements of well-being, such as yoga challenge, walking challenge, debate challenges, gaming challenges, healthy food making challenge, a dance challenge, etc.

7 Saturn (Sleep Well)
The planet of darkness is Saturn. Dark is very much essential as you need light. You must embrace darkness at least 6 hours a day to be healthy, I mean sleep. But sleep not more than 8 hrs as an adult. Unfavorable Saturn can diminish the power of other planets too.
Proper sufficient sleep is very much needed for your overall brain function and emotional well being. Sleep deprivation can cause you instant damages such as a car crash, or it can harm you over a period of time such as chronic health problems. It can also affect your thinking, reactions, work, learning, and behavioral changes.
8 Kethu (Take Break)
Kethu is significantly powerful with respect to our liberation. The context here is taking small breaks from the regular routines. It is a power booster to your productivity and rejuvenating process. You need to find time to sharpen your axe frequently to reap more.
Make this mysterious ‘Kethu’ work for you by taking periodic breaks from the works.
9 Mercury (Seek Knowledge)
Leaders, Teachers, and Students have to cherish this one planet, ‘Mercury’, the planet of knowledge, to accomplish the objectives of their respective professions. It is responsible for your speech, communication, and intellect.
Never stop learning. The life you live is the sum total of what your brain acquired through the knowledge input you fed through the years. The way you spent your time learning decides the quality of life you live today. Keep learning new things to explore your life more and more.
Never expect planets to help you regain your health. But if you take control of your health, planets will compete with each other to help you achieve victory.
